Ex-Hearts of Oak forward Sadat Karim urges upcoming footballers to combine football with education together

Currently with Hamlstads BK in the Sweden topflight, the 29 year old stated the importance of combining the two at a time stating it will help one secure a better future since the education can cover up even if the football does not work for you since you can be at high risk of sustaining a career threatening injury which is possible to happen to any footballer at any given time.

Again, the former Hearts of Oak hitman has revealed combining the two, gives parents no chance than to offer their wards the support which will them to reach the highest level, the kind of support his father exhibited to him from infancy.
He told Haske Radio in Kumasi;
‘Honestly my dad was very supportive when I was chasing my football dream. He use to come and watch me during my days at colts and also at Prempeh College.’
‘What upcoming footballers should know is, education is the most important before football so they should do well to combine the two. They mostly quit school at a young age because of football which gives their parents no hopes of supporting them.’
‘But what they should know is, education if you push hard, you are going to benefit from it no matter what but with football, you can sustain an injury which can end your career totally. Lots of my friends faced similar problems.’
Just as the saying goes; ‘Leadership by example.’ The ex- AshantiGold striker also narrated how difficult it was for him but he still managed to combined the two together since he was also brilliant when it comes to education. He said this to the Asawase-based station;
‘Going to High School, I had grade 6 after BECE so I had the chance to go to Prempeh College where I read Science. In the morning, is mend for school and then will move to training when we close that was around 2-3pm then with Kumasi Barcelona at colts level. It wasn’t easy blending the two at a time but I managed.’
‘I was part of our school where I played in the inter-schools and that’s where I got the chance to join King Faisal’, he concluded.
