Kissi Agyebeng as Special Prosecutor a disrespect to Ghanaians – Sammy Gyamfi

National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has insisted that nominating Kissi Agyebeng for the Special Prosecutor role in Ghana is a total disrespect to the people of Ghana.

Reports in the local media suggest that Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame has nominated Kissi Agyebeng to be considered as Special Prosecutor after the role was left vacant after the resignation of Martin Amidu.

His nomination has been met with contempt from some sections of the public who believe that it is an attempt by the government to cover up rot especially because he has some personal relations with Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and other leading members of the New Patriotic Party.

Adding his voice to calls kicking against the appointment of the Kissi Agyebeng, Sammy Gyamfi noted that Kissi Agyebeng doesn’t have the clout to occupy the office of the special prosecutor.

“He can’t fight corruption in this country. He doesn’t have the clout like the Minority leader said he doesn’t have the weight, he doesn’t have the clout to fight corruption in this country. You need a track record. Apart from been Anas’ lawyer, what other track record does Kissi Agyebeng have in this country?

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has seen that his nephew and his Africa Legal Associates has been fingered in the stinking Agyapa deal for engaging in bid-rigging. Ken Ofori Atta is also implicated in the Agyapa deal and these individuals have to be investigated by the office of the Special Prosecutor for suspected acts of corruption so Akufo-Addo has decided to appoint Gabby’s boy to come and shield his family members and appointees involved. Kissi Agyebeng is an Agyapa Special Prosecutor. He’s coming to cover up all those cases of corruption, not just the ones that have happened but the ones yet to happen too.”
