Special Prosecutor Agyebeng Kissi has noted that Ghana is suffering from Two Pandemics at the moment.
The first being the deadly COVID-19 and the second being Corruption which has eaten deeply into the fabric of society.
To him, he reiterates that he cannot end the act but rather will work towards making it an expensive venture.
The Special Prosecutor made this known when he was been sworn in by the President of the country.
“We are confronted by two pandemics, one is a health crisis, the other is not a health crisis but it’s also a pandemic which is corruption itself and corruption-related activities. The zeal with which your administration has approached the fight against the health crisis, I will also do same in respect of the other pandemic
And thus I come into this service and I pledge to the people of Ghana that I’m going to work assiduously with deliberation to suppress and oppress corruption. I said in Parliament last week that I will not be naive to assume that I am coming to stop corruption because it’s innate in humans but as much as possible, my office is going to drive it down to its bearest minimum.”
