About eight out of the 411 ‘Akufo-Addo Graduates’ have visited the Jubilee House, the seat of Government in Ghana.
Their visit to President Nana Akufo-Addo took place on Friday, April 30, 2021.
The ‘Akufo-Addo Graduates’ are the first beneficiaries of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
According to President Akufo-Addo, the eight graduates who visited him were those “who obtained 8As in the 2020 WASSCE.
In his statement, he said the eight graduates “were at Jubilee House, at my invitation.”
“Indeed, 411 out of the 465 candidates who scored 8As in the 2020 WASSCE were students from Ghana, and beneficiaries of the Free SHS policy,” according to Mr. Akufo-Addo.
He added that “Again, 2020 was the only year that 50% of Ghanaian students scored A1 to C6 in all core subjects.”
The Free SHS policy began in September 2017 and has since seen about 1.2 million students enrollment over the last five years.
