VIDEO: NDC must apply the law of Moses of ‘a slap for a slap’ in 2024 – Yammin

Former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Yammin has admonished members of the party to revert their old ways of fostering peace with their political opponents the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He believes applying the laws of Moses in the Bible which recommends a slap in return for another is the best antidote to reaching such a height as anything short of that may result in the governing NPP taking advantage.

Mr. Yammin observed that members of the NDC have tied themselves to Matthew 5:38-39 which reads in part “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also”

The former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister on Power Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com wants this melancholic behaviour of NDC members to change as they are not noted for it and work with the law of Moses.

“In Ghana today if someone slaps one cheek and you turn another for him to slap, it would be like what happened in 2020 and the NPP will take advantage of you always. If he/she slaps you and you slap back he/she will realize it is not easy. It would be the case your slap may be heftier than what you received. I believe that the NDC should show qualities of the Moses method of fomenting peace. I want us to go back to those times” he disclosed.

Asked why members of the NDC are unable to adopt the slap for slap peace brokering process in accordance with the law of Moses, he blamed it on timid leadership in the party for which reason he is offering himself to lead as National Organiser.

“It is a leadership style. It depends on how each leader wants to lead…we all want victory including the executives but the methods used may not give us the victory we need. We need people with the old NDC mentality who can work towards victory”, he stressed.
