The outspoken communication team member of the ruling party, New Patriotic Party ( NPP), in the central region, Dr Nana Yaw Agyenim-Boateng has asked Professor Kwamina Ahwoi to direct his politicization of Covid-19 advise to former President John Mahama because he (John Mahama) is playing politics with it.
According to Dr Agyenim-Boateng, the call for a cessation of the politicization of the novel coronavirus pandemic directed at Vice President Bawumia, should also be made to former President Mahama .
He also added that, he would be surprised to hear if Prof Kwamina Ahwoi have lost former President Mahama’s direct number to advise him to his politicisation comments on the pandemic.
Dr Agyenim-Boateng called out former President Mahama over his recent claims that the current government’s inability to complete some projects he had initiated, has negatively affected Ghana’s Covid-19 fight.
He urged former President John Mahama to stop embarrassing himself and the entire country and he should consider the data on infrastructure between his administration and that of the NPP before he comes out to speak because the embarrassment is too much for us as a country.
Dr Agyenim-Boateng also added that, NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo have been able to perform much better on the situation we inherited. In fact the data makes it very clear, he claimed, adding that John Mahama and his government was unable to handle the power crisis that hit the country by mitigating the hardship it caused like the current administration is doing.
If Prof Kwamina Ahwoi wants to act as a statesman on this pandemic, then he should rather advise his darling son( John Mahama) to stop his politicisation of this pandemic before anyone else.
He also warned against the claim for glory by former President John Mahama in the fight against COVID-19.
This pandemic demands that the national interest guides all our actions. And would require that political parties do not claim ownership of ideas or insist on taking credit for any successes. ” We are in this battle together against an invisible enemy “, he added.
Dr Agyenim-Boateng finally appeals for cooperation among all the actors and, in particular, close between the government, our security agencies and traditional leaders in enforcing the government’s directives and required social distancing protocols, he added. He wondering why the advice that is coming from Prof Ahwoi to cease with politicization on the matter has not been directed to former President John Mahama as well.
