The Assembly Member for Nyinahin Abobonwinu electoral area within the Atwima Mponua District, Hon. Clinton Darko, has said his area has been denied aid from funds released by government to municipalities and district to combat the deadly Covid-19 pandemic outbreak that has became a national crisis within a short time.
Speaking to Hon Clinton after a report case of Covid-19 in the district capital , he said the district capital of Atwima Mponua, Nyinahin has recorded one positive case, but the victim is alleged to be roaming from one pub to another spreading the virus regardless of the fact that the District Health Directorate has confirmed him to be infected with the Coronavirus.
“There is no isolation centre to hold up victims nor available funds to purchase students mattress and mosquito net to put up an isolation centre. It is a difficult situation here and we are lost in our heads about it”, the Assembly member said.
According to the Assembly Member, the DCE for Atwima Mponua, Hon. William Darko, has clearly stated that there is no money available at the district office to curb the deadly COVID-19.
“Now one positive case has sparked fear on the faces of the people within Nyinahin because of a possible spread that can be done by the victim and we are all not feeling safe”, he added.
He further called on government to hear the cry of the district and provide funds and support to help them strategize towards any possible spread of the virus in the area.
