The District Office that houses the Electoral Commission(EC) in the Fomena District of the Ashanti Region has been gutted by fire this is according to a report by Ghana Television.
This was after the elections were over and officials of the Commission were collating the results of the polls with reports suggesting the Independent Parliamentary Candidate Lawyer Andrew Asiamah was in a commanding lead
Currently, the cause of the fire is currently unknown but personnel of the Ghana National fire Service have been called in to douse the fire.
This website cannot readily tell whether the fire has consumed some of the electoral materials.
Meanwhile, there are reports suggesting that the Independent candidate Hon. Andrew Asiamah Amoakoh has won the seat for another term.
