A community elder at Tinga close to Bole in the Bole District of the Savannah region has been shot dead by unknown assailants, MyNewsGh.com reports.
Gbandariwura Koku Nyankan MyNewsGh.com gathered, was shot at close range at about 9 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019, while watching television in his room.
His family has ruled out a possible robbery attack as they claimed nothing was taken away from him after being shot by his assailants who fled right after the act.
The gunman is gathered shot into his window with the bullet penetrating through his glass window and hitting his chest, killing him instantly.
His family members including his children who were in the compound of the house on hearing the gunshot rushed outside to know who shot a gun but saw no one. They came into the room to see their father in a pool of blood.
Police in the Bole District according to a local radio station Nkilgi Fm, have conveyed the body to a morgue in Bole while investigations into the unfortunate incident have been launched.
According to the police, it would be premature to link the murder of the elder to the recurring chieftaincy controversies in the area but they have not ruled out a possible contract killing
