Confirmed: Special Prosecutor Receives Corruption Cases With Alleged Mahama Involvement

The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye, has just confirmed that some perceived corruption cases involving Former President John Mahama have been submitted to the Special Prosecutor Mr Kissi Agyebeng for investigation and onward prosecution.

Speaking on Nsempa Fie on Wontumi TV on Saturday, August 28, which was monitored by MyNewsGhana.net, Abronye said that Mr Mahama should not think that the many corruption scandals levelled against him have been forgotten.

Among the cases he said had been given to the office of the Special Prosecutor include the purchase of five (5) aircraft for the Ghana Armed Forces which were negotiated by the then Vice President John Dramani Mahama in 2011.

Also, he said that the issue of E.O Group $15 million oil cash which was originally meant for the development of the Western Region as part of the Group’s “corporate social responsibility” has been sent to the SP for investigation.

According to him, when Mahama took over as President the money was diverted into pockets unaccounted for.

Abronye who described Mahama as the “king of thieves” expressed shock as to how the latter could accuse the Akufo-Addo administration of corruption.

He said that Mahama and the NDC had deployed the same strategy they used in 2008 to win power adding that it would not work this time around.

” Because you want to come and rule Ghana again you are describing Akufo-Addo and NPP of corruption”

He continued “Ghanaians please ask Mahama that which NPP government official was he able to jail on charges of corruption when he took over as President,” he said.
