An update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS)’s Director-General, Patrick Aboagye, has revealed that 17 persons have fully recovered from the disease in Ghana.
The GHS DG gave the update at a Ministry of Information-organised press briefing Tuesday morning.
He gave the definition for recovery as a person who has tested positive but was later treated and has tested negative twice.
The other positive update received from the press conference is his announcement that 66 others who previously tested positive have now tested negative on first post-treatment testing.
All the 66 are being monitored as they await a second testing as the GHS is hopeful that they will all meet the requirement for a full recovery, that is testing negative for a second time.
It also came to light at the press briefing that Ghana’s fight against Covid-19 puts her at 14th best in terms of testing.
According to the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Ghana is doing 1,265 per every one million persons, making her lead in Africa and 14th globally.
