There was some electoral violence in various parts of the country, however, notable amongst them is the Techiman and Savelugu incidents recorded loss of lives and various degrees of injuries. The mother of the Tajudden, one of the victims shot and killed by the military has sent out a word of caution to Akuffo Addo.
During the collation of the presidential and parliamentary at the Techiman South constituency, there were some misunderstandings between the security agencies and some party supporters. According to the news gathered by Mynewsghana, the crowd started to pelt stones at the security. The security, according to the videos circulating on social media, fired shots at the outraged crowd in the quest to disperse them.
These shootings by the security forces resulted in the death of some persons, one of whom is Tajudeen.
Speaking to the media, a devastated mother, Madam Emma Musah, could not hold back her tears but said;
if you think you have to kill before getting power, its between you and your God
The Presidential candidate for the opposition party, National Democratic Congress, Mr John Mahama and some party executives visited persons who were injured as a result of the unrest at Techiman. Some of the persons visited have what seemed like a maimed condition.
The NDC said, though they are contesting the electoral results in court, they will continue to protest in order to seek justice for the victims of the Techiman South violent attacks.
