Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Bernard Mornah has served notice that if Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen slaps him once when he “resists” the compilation of the new voters’ register, he will retaliate with three slaps.
Mr Obiri Boahen, a staunch supporter of the decision by the Electoral Commission of Ghana ( EC) to compile a new register, had stressed that anyone who stood in the EC’s way in its decision to compile the register will be beaten.
“Stay home if you don’t agree to the compilation of the new register because anyone who tries to disrupt the exercise will be beaten. We will beat you mercilessly. What happened in Ayawaso is just a tip of the iceberg,” Nana Obiri Boahen had said in an interview on Dadi 101.1FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com
But Mr Mornah, who has sworn to “resist ” the needless decision by the EC has resolved that he will give three doses of Mr Obiri Boahen’s own medicine to him.
““I swear, I swear if Obiri Boahen touches me, I will slap him three times, I swear, yes! the least touch, I will slap him three times… so the threat by Obiri Boahen that they will beat us, he can’t even withstand my slap, so let no one attempt to say they will beat anybody, because if you try, we will beat each other,” he indicated on Pan African TV Saturday monitored by MyNewsGh.com
Meanwhile Mr Mornah is due to report to the Criminal Investigations Department( CID) for saying that he will “resist” the planned compilation of the new voters’ register..
Some leading members of the opposition National Democratic Congress ( NDC) have indicated that they will accompany Mr Mornah to the offices of the CID in solidarity.
