LEAKED Chats: Hopeson, Abronye quit ‘Fixing The Country’ Movement over ‘chop chop’

Confusion has rocked Fixing The Country Movement, a pro-government association that sought to counter #FixTheCountry, an independent, non-political group of ordinary Ghanaians, middle class and celebrities.

Details emerging suggest that the leadership are at warpaths with some quitting the group over concerns of lack of transparency in the use of funds tailored towards the prosecution of the group’s agenda.

Leaked WhatsApp chats available to MyNewsGh.com reveal a heated argument among the leading members including Hopeson Adorye and Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye DC who have distanced themselves from activities of the group.

According to them, there appear to be underhand dealings in the activities of the group unknown to members wondering why a one-man show is being run by the pro-NPP group.

Fixing The Country Movement

The Fixing The Country Movement which was outdoored in August this year claimed it was determined to expose the falsehoods that members of the ‘FixTheCountry’ crusaders have peddled about the ruling Akufo-Addo-led government.

According to the group, the ‘FixTheCountry’ campaigners, who are being motivated and influenced by members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), seek to make the ruling party unpopular through false propaganda.

At a press conference in Accra on Monday, August 16, 2021, the Founder of the group, Ernest Owusu Bempah said although members of the ‘Fixing The Country Movement’ were not against campaigners of ‘FixTheCountry’, they would not tolerate any machinations meant to peddle falsehood about the Akufo-Addo-led government.

“As a movement, we are going to embark on a nationwide sustained campaign across all the 16 regions to propagate the good works of Akufo-Addo in fixing the country,” he stated, pointing out that President Akufo-Addo was fixing the mess that the opposition NDC left in 2016, and therefore an overnight transformation of the country as demanded by the ‘FixTheCountry’ crusaders was impossible.
