A former member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Lord Hamah has questioned the logic behind the National Democratic Congress and its members who are against the discontinuation of the shooting incident involving legislator Hawa Koomson.
The Ghana Police Service has discontinued investigations leading to Fisheries Minister and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency firing gunshots at registration during the voter registration exercise in 2020.
But the youth of the NDC have expressed worry over the discontinuation and asserts that the Inspector General of Police will fail for not stamping his authority and ensuring that the Member of Parliament is brought to book.
However, Lord Hamah who was a member of the NDC sees no wrongdoing in the discontinuation of the case and believes that firing of gunshots by Hawa Koomson was the best thing to do.
He said in a post shared on social media that “The police clearance of Hawa Koomson is long overdue. Kasoa is not Disney world! This is a national crime hub. Also as a public figure, she is exposed and vulnerable to a high degree. Why the partisanship in this matter? Why always trying hanging on straw?”
Adding that “Reading the post by Felix Kwakye Ofosu critisizing the decision of the police to clear Hawa Koomson, it seems he had wanted another Major Mahama incident”.
