On October 25, 2021, the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court is expected to hear Rosemond Alade Brown aka Akuapem Poloo’s motion to appeal her conviction.
Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to 90 days in prison on June 16 by the Circuit Court presided over by Christiana Cann.
The High Court later granted her bail pending the outcome of an appeal filed by her lawyer, Andrew Kudzo Vortia.
Since then, Defence Counsel Andrew Kudzo Vortia has fulfilled all conditions precedent for the appellant’s appeal.
However, the Attorney General’s office has served a hearing notice on the appellant’s lawyer (Poloo).
The appeals process has also been initiated by the Attorney General.
According to reports, both parties have filed their respective addresses for the High Court’s consideration.
The appeal hearing has been tentatively scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2021.
