Nurses at Korle-Bu stage sit-home strike after one tested positive for coronavirus

Nurses at the Accident and Emergency Centre of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital have planned to kick start a sit-home strike on Monday, 6th April 2020.




The nurses have drafted a letter to the authorities of the hospital making known their decision to sit home till their concerns are addressed.

The one of their concerns is why authorities didn’t tell them about a colleague of theirs who tested positive for coronavirus.





The main problem is the lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect themselves.




According to TV3 a nurse who spoke to them on anonymity said they demand at all nurses at the Accident and Emergency Center to be tested for the virus to known their stances lest they infect their families with the virus.

We have been working since the case came there and we have been exposed and we demand that all the staff be tested,”

“When the PPEs are ready, we will resume and work for mother Ghana.”
