A Former Deputy Information Minister, Felix Ofosu Kwakye believes any wise President who doubts the credibility of a voters’ register that brought to power would have resigned to prove the legitimacy of his claims.
The NPP and other political parties have thrown their weight behind the Electoral Commission’s move to compile a new voters’ register ahead of Election 2020.
This move has been opposed by the NDC and other political parties. However, the opposition does not seems to achieve its goal of stopping the registration process as the EC has given all indications that even though the country keeps recording new COVID-19 cases., it intends to go ahead with the registration.
Speaking on the issue on Accra-based Power FM, Felix Ofosu Kwakye said Nana Akufo-Addo should have resigned from the Presidency in solidarity with his political party that believes that the voters’ register that brought him to power lacks credibility.
“By principle Nana Addo should have resigned from the Presidency by now because he does not trust the credibility of the voters register that brought him to power.”
He said the New Patriotic Party(NPP) has thrown its weight behind the Electoral Commission because it wants a voters register supervised by Akufo-Addo which will in essence disable the NDC in every elections that will take place in the country.
“The NPP supports the compilation of a new Voters Register because they want an Akufo-Addo supervised voters register so that they can disable the NDC. With that voters’ register, it means the NPP will win every election that takes place in this country. They want to disable the NDC,” he told host Mugabe on Power FM.
He assured party faithful of the NDC to be solidly behind their party leadership because they will fight to ensure that the illegality ends.
